BRIEF ABOUT TOPIC

'Gota patti' from the name only we get a glimpse of the topic. As we all know than gota patti is a very old and very beautiful handicraft and it is mainly famous in rajasthan. My topic is all about creativity and designs used in dresses as borders. We can also say that gota patti is a kind of lace with colorful ribbons with different kind of styles such as natural motifs(birds,animals,humans). Now a days modern gota patti work is also very beautiful. In early times the design of gota patti is very much delicate and royal and the design which is used in the patti is very much inspire by nature but in modern days the design used in the gota is very much geometrical. Now a days modern design is very much in fashion. Gota patti is the only thing in any outfit which make it attractive. today also in rajasthan gota patti is a very important part of their craft. rajasthan is known as hub of gota patti.

I have chosen 'GOTA PATTI' as my topic because i am always fascinated by the history,colors,culture,art and craft of rajasthan. Rajasthan is one of the states in india which is known for its handicrafts. The handicraft work of rajasthan is very attractive as it is very rich and vast. The craft which fascinated me a lot is gota patti work of rajasthan. It is very intresting handicraft. The gota patti work is first found in a village of jaipur called 'NAILA' village. In this village the craft has been introduced.This craft is one of the oldest and famous craft of rajasthan. The gota patti work is also known as 'LAPPE KA KAAM' . Now a days jaipur is called as a 'hub of gota patti' work . This work is mostly seen as kinaari in lehengas,suits,sarees etc. The work is not only famous in jaipur it is famous in world wide. For making this gota around 60,000 people work in a industry. In making this gota applique technique was used. The gota patti is very attractive beacuse it is a gold and silver ribbon and lace from lucknow and fron these laces the produce design and motifs and use them as design. The gota was cut with the resemble of nature such as birds,human figures,animals etc. It is also known as 'Aari tari' or 'zardozi' work. The work always resembles the 'kundan' and 'Meenakari' jewellery of rajasthan.The gota is also of many types like 'Siru Gota','Lappa Gota','Gokhru','Tukdi Gota'.For making gota some important equipments used like wooden frame,needle,base fabric,scissors,wooden hammer,iron tool,beads,stones,crystals,tracing paper and chalk powder these a material which help in maiing a beautiful design
